I have had a lot of false starts on my journey of self improvement, and recently I’ve been giving it another go. I think the “me and them” mentality has been one of the biggest hurdles in my past attempts. I listened to this yesterday on my way to work, and it really helped. I work in a restaurant as a cook. It can be very high stress; people make a lot of mistakes which can make your job harder, and therefore it’s very easy to become fixated on the shortcomings of others and let them anger you. When I felt myself falling into that familiar pattern, I used the technique you described of picturing that person experiencing pure happiness. And it really helped! It really blunted the edge of my anger and helped me to sympathize in a situation where I normally wouldn’t.
Thank you for doing what you do.
I’m happy that the technique worked for you to help relieve the anger you were feeling.
Dear Robert,
I found your podcast a few days ago on Spotify and has got a lot of insights from it. I’ve been “on the road” seeking for answers for many years and I found your speeches clear, genuine, and compassionate. I just want to let you know that what you do make a difference to people like me. I look forward to exploring the website and get to know more about you.
Thank you for listening and sharing about the podcast, I’m happy that they found you on the road

Toward the end you speak of “nothingness.” What about, “no birth, no death” as a Buddhist/Hindu concept?
I know it’s a choice, but I feel more connected to the prospect that we are infinitely a part of the universal energy that hold everything together, love.
How wonderful this podcast is!
