How important is it for you to be right today? Check in and see how often you feel the need to be correct and how it feels when you are not correct. Don’t condemn or judge yourself just observe when you are being right and how it feels when you let go of that need. When we see that being right is a way for the ego to grow itself, we can eliminate the necessary food for its growth. Take away the need to be right and set yourself free.

The importance of being right
Robert, when I read the title of this podcast I immediately thought ‘HA, this one is all about ME!’ I never thought about or realized how much I feel the drive to prove I’m right until my husband pointed it out a couple of months ago. When someone insists they are right and I know for a fact that I’m the one who’s right I’ll go to great lengths to prove that this is so. It drives me bonkers when I know I’m right and someone tells me I’m wrong. I will give myself credit for recently modifying this behaviour with my elderly clients–I’ll open my mouth then clamp it shut, thus saving my energy. So I’ll just watch myself more carefully. The ego is a powerful thing, isn’t it?!
Annie, you are soooo right! Heehee:)

stumbling through cyberspace can be rewarding — this issue strikes at my core and likely my anger. the allure of being right, smart, recognized has been my carrot for as long as i can remember. i am tired of the sticks…
this is a brave move that shall be rewarded handsomely

The ultimate is when “someone’s wrong” implicates you in something you don’t want to be implicated in and they are clearly wrong – eg: You must prove them wrong to clear your name and gain peace of mind. I have been in this case where it really got to me – I think it would have been a great test of your worthy ideas…. Or should a case like this really be a case where there is an exception?
Robert,
Thank you so much for this particular podcast. It has been extemely helpful. It was what I needed to hear.
Robert where have you gone? I look forward to updating the podcasts and wonder when another one is coming our way! Thank you for doing this – it’s helping so many people and I send the link to everyone……….
Hi Meredith! I’m right here! New podcats coming soon. I’ve been very busy with my other job and haven’t had a chance to update the podcats, but I will soon:) Thanks so much for your support.
Peace
Robert
there have times when I have been right and said to someone ok you can be right. and I have a peace of mind about it, due to the fact I would rather be SPIRITUAL than be on a EGO trip
